But don’t like it that much. But definitely eaten. In Telugu its called as Kakarakaya. The taste of Bitter Guard is very bitter. Many people do not like bitter curry. But some like bitter. Bitter Guard is a vegetable that is eaten mostly despite being bitter. It purifies the blood. Helps in weight loss. Removes weakness. Strengthens bones. This is the only vegetable that grows on a vine. Its basic taste is bitter. So this vegetable is not used much.

Bitter Guard is very healthy and people eat it reluctantly. This is because of the health-enhancing properties it contains. Bitter Guard is said to be especially good for the stomach. Curry is not bitter at all if cooked properly. Bitter Guard comes in many colors and sizes. Its size and length vary according to season.

Many people remove the top of the Bitter Guard while cooking it. Because this is where the bitterness is high. But this is very good for our health. Although very bitter in taste, it removes all diseases related to the stomach. Actually Bitter guard not originated from India. It was first discovered in Africa. From there it came to Asia.

Kakara contains a special glycoside called momorticin, which is toxic. Due to this its taste is bitter. But this same element provides health benefits to our body. It improves digestion.

Relieves problems like gas. Nutrients like protein, carbohydrate, fat, fiber, vitamin A, B1 B2, C, calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, zinc, potassium are available in bitter. These nutrients help in removing the accumulated worms and unnecessary waste in the stomach.
