PM Vishwakarma Yojana: It is known that the central government has recently launched a new scheme for those doing handicrafts and caste occupations. This scheme to provide financial assistance under the name of PM Vishwakarma Yojana was launched on September 17. However, this scheme is getting a great response. The Center said that nearly 10 lakh applications have been received in the last one and a half days.

According to PM Vishwakarma’s website, the number of applications received so far is 9 lakh 85 thousand 429. Among them, 12 thousand 184 have completed the first stage verification, 354 have reached the second stage, and 18 have completed the third stage verification. The main objective of this scheme is to improve the skills of the artisans and market their products domestically and internationally. The center has recently revealed that under this scheme, artisans and artisans belonging to 18 categories will be benefited.

Here are the complete details of the scheme..
In the next five years, a total of Rs. Central government will allocate 13 thousand crores. An initial financial assistance of Rs.15,000 will be provided for the equipment provided to the handicraftsmen. Aspirants are also given training to increase their skills in work. During the training period Rs. 500 per stipend is also given. A bank loan is also available with subsidized interest after training.

In the first stage, you can get a loan of Rs.1 lakh with 5 percent interest. Then the central government will bear 8 percent interest on your loan. This loan is repayable within 18 months. If the first installment is paid properly.. in the second installment Rs. 2 lakh loan. The tenure of this loan is up to 30 months. After that you will be eligible to take a loan up to Rs.3 lakh. Through this scheme, the central government will provide assistance to around 30 lakh handicraft workers.

How to apply?
Eligible candidates can apply for this scheme through Common Service Centers (CSCs). Other necessary documents including Aadhaar card, caste certificate have to be submitted. Those who complete the training through this scheme will be given an identity card along with a training certificate.
The center also takes the responsibility of promoting and marketing the products manufactured by them. All 18 caste professions like carpenters, traditional artisans, barbers, handloom artisans, rajakals, blacksmiths, potters, goldsmiths, masons, tailors are eligible for this scheme.
